Robert Kelley was born in Eastern Ohio in 1952 being the last of
12 children. He was raised in a God-fearing ministers’ home.
His family were very faithful and involved in the work of the Lord.
His father used to work in a coal mine, manage a farm and pioneer
a new church 40 miles away all at the same time. All of the Kelley
children were raised with a very strong work ethic.
After finishing school, Bro. Kelley moved to Columbus, Ohio and
then later to Wheeling, West Virginia where he began his ministry
under the leadership of Bro. Billy Cole. Four years of intensive
training under Bro. Cole put a spiritual backbone of steel into
Bro. Kelley. Eventually, Bro. Kelley became the pastor of the church
in Wheeling.
In 1977, Bro. Kelley married Jerolyn Chambers. Born to their marriage
was Robert Kyle who made his entrance into this world on October
22, 1980. The little family greatly loved West Virginia, but God
had other plans in mind.
After an exploratory trip to Great Britain in 1980, Bro. Kelley
knew that God would someday send him to this nation but the time
was not right. Finally, in 1983, he became an appointed missionary
of the United Pentecostal Church International. The Kelleys arrived
in Glasgow in June, 1984.
The work in Glasgow was pioneered by the Kelleys. Added to their
family was Mary Catherine who was born on May 13, 1986. This completed
their happy family.
Twenty one years later, the Kelleys still have a burning desire
to see great revival in this nation. Bro. Kelley is now the Northern
District Superintendent for the United Pentecostal Church of Great
Britain & Ireland. This district includes Scotland, North England,
N. Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. He is also President of
Harvest Bible College. This is the only full time Bible School operated
by the United Pentecostal Church in Europe and the Middle East.
God has miraculously provided outstanding facilities in Glasgow
that house the Bible School and New Life Church. Both Bro. and Sis.
Kelley serve on various boards and fulfill various ministries in
the United Kingdom and in the European Region.
Bro. and Sis. Kelley are the proud grandparents of Isaac Chamber
Kelley. Both of their children are greatly involved in ministry.
